LLOYD WALWORTH, CASCADE SINGER DIRECTOR
Lloyd Walworth graduated from Western Washington University in 1969, but his schooling didn’t stop there. In 1975, Lloyd earned his Master of Science and Teaching from Portland State University. He started out teaching elementary general music and secondary choir and band for the Cle Elum-Roslyn School District in 1969. In 1972 he, along with his wife, Diane and two children, Jennifer and Heidi, moved to The Dalles, Oregon. His years of teaching in Oregon have mostly been in Vocal Music for middle school and high school students. He currently directs the choirs at The Dalles Wahtonka High School, including the jazz group, Harmonaires. He also helped organize and is the current director of the Cascade Singers Community Choir. In 1994 Lloyd was selected as Teacher of the Year for The Dalles High School and was a finalist for Oregon Teacher of the Year in 2003. When Lloyd isn’t making choral music, he spends his time gardening, completing crossword puzzles and word jumbles, hiking, biking, mountain climbing and writing bad limericks for family and friend occasions.
